History

The Chiron success-story is the result of many years of investment, combined with the enthusiasm and pioneering spirit of our team, and close cooperation with reputable academic institutions and customers worldwide. Established in 1983 by Managing Director Jon Eigill Johansen, Chiron began producing reference materials for the oil and petroleum industry. After a short time, the company signed a major contract with Exxon in the US and has since produced over 250 components for them. Over the years, Chiron has continuously adapted to new challenges through the rapid development and launch of innovative solutions, such as forensic reference standards for Novel Psychoactive Substances (NPS) or high purity biomarkers for petroleum, geochemical and environmental analysis. Today, Chiron has a product portfolio of over 15 000 unique products, with several patented products and applications, and new inventions continually under development.
